Here is a quick thought: Rob Bell is wrong.

I’m not arguing about the hell part. I’m going to argue the love part.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ESV

We have this idea that love will make the best happen for everyone. But that’s not love. If love doesn’t insist on its own way that means there is always freedom to choose.

If I love, I have to not force my own way. Eventually each person has to choose; that is what love does. If not, the person is forced into a prison of the desire of another. That’s not love.

If one is forced to do something it creates a ruler to subject social construct. God wants to return to the walk in the garden, two beings choosing each other. It creates a closeness, and a mutual bond. This relationship can’t be forced because love doesn’t insist on its own way. And if love must endure all things… forever, it must.

Love loses.

I love the idea of blogging. I like sharing ideas. I am not a blogger.

When it comes down to it, I realized as much as I would love to broadcast my ideas, it’s not my strength to write blogs. I love sharing ideas, but writing them down is not a passion of mine. It only serves to help me remember them.

I’ve come to realize over the last few months that my strength and passion does not lie in blogging. Blogging gives me something to produce and I like making stuff.

I like making music more. I sit at home and work on it. Sometimes I get nowhere, but I enjoy it and lose myself in it.

Blogging does not do that for me. So, I will not feel bad that I don’t blog as much as I’d like. Because when it really comes down to it, I don’t like it enough to keep it going.

Maybe I’ll share my ideas, maybe not; and that’s OK.

When I first started really exploring social media and blogging as a way to change the world I thought it was and was going to be huge. But then my life changed and I couldn’t be in front of a computer all the time. I couldn’t be connected through a smart phone all the time.

I got disconnected from a world that is growing. And maybe growing in love with itself. I still think it is changing our world, but what about all the people who can’t practically follow twitter feeds and facebook updates and tumblr posts all day long. I can’t catch up on everything I’d like to follow at the end of the day. I have a life after work. And I can’t follow up on the weekend, it’s too much to handle. All of a sudden social media becomes social madness when you can’t stay connected 27/7.

How does social media affect them?
